On a Sunday at the end of the longest September heatwave ever recorded in the UK, a select crew of Reccers gathered to
- trim much of the hedge alongside the path between Cannon and Conway Roads
- animatedly discuss the hedge-trimming
- trim the hedge above the tennis club store bordering Conway Road
- rescue the remnants of the barley boom and leave the wet barley as a haven for bugs
- transform one of the sheds into a state of exceptional tidiness
- consume cool water melon
