Another super-duper Reccing Sunday! We were there in strength (numbers and muscles), the weather was kind and a fine bundle of jobs got done.
Together, we:
- pruned the rather energetic Pen-Row evergreen hedge
- tidied Evan Edge flower beds and cleared intrusive shoots
- took back encroaching bulrushes to restore a better water/vegetation balance in the pond
- strimmed clumpy grass patches to free the way for wild flowers and young trees
- litter-picked, barrowed green waste to collection Corner, composted and swept
- took a modest break to allow yarns to be accompanied by hot drinks and cakes
- generated a little extra for the Friends’ resources through kind donations for the same
- prepared the under-oak wild flower bed for later planting:
Thanks everyone for all their efforts – and see you next time.
