Work Day report: September 29, 2019

Martin’s ‘no-rain’ dance worked yet again on Sunday! Despite the doom-and-gloom forecasts on all the weather apps, Conway Rec escaped with just 28 warmish droplets and some bursts of something close to sunshine.

Well done to all who bravely turned out to work – and special congratulations to those who developed and implemented new skills. These included wader-modelling, bulrush thinning, litter-picker manipulation, electric hedge trimming, stepladder supporting and cafeteria management.

We did some useful stuff and it was great to see everyone – including Martin’s (working) guests and John, Jean and Ian. It was also good to see Mick and to know that he and Fran plan to join us on our next work day. Thanks to all – as ever – for the support.

We look forward to seeing everyone again before long to help the Rec bed down for winter.
