Work day: August 22nd, 2021

The focus was late-summer tidying, with some serious hedge trimming, judicious strimming, weeding, clipping, pruning, bramble/nettle control, pond-clearing, sweeping and litter-picking.

Whilst some toiled on, others developed a sudden interest in local fauna – a lime hawk moth caterpillar had been spotted and rescued from the hedge trimmers. Find out more about these moths here:

It was great to see so many Reccers in action – the habitual no-rain dance worked again and we made a good start on all those tough late summer/autumn jobs. Still plenty more strimming, trimming and general TLC to undertake, but an excellent start.
